More Insulin Again! Week 31

Another appointment! Today I saw the nutritionist and she upped my dosage again! Since my last visit, I had to be put on daytime insulin shots. And every couple of days my dosage keeps getting upped. I really hope that this is not hurting my little Bailey! It doesn't seem to matter what I eat, my sugars have no rhyme or reason. I am soooo sick of eating grilled chicken salads that I think I am going to barf if I look at one more piece of chicken or lettuce!(But...It does seem to be the only thing that keeps my numbers low!)
Anyway, after the CDE, I waited about 45 minutes to see the doctor. I asked to see Dr. Lassiter, but Dr. Woods is the one that appeared in my room. It was fine, because I really did like him. He was very sweet and informative and he actually DID read my chart before coming in! Yay for him!
He advised me to have a c-section and to go ahead and get it on the books. He was thinking around the 15th of October. I think it would be fun to have Bailey on Jackson's b-day, so I am going to try for the 11th. I will get Dan Hudson to do the section with hopefully Woods assisting.
Overall it was a good visit, except that my husband didn't come to support me! He drove around in the St. Vincent's garage for 20 minutes and couldn't find a place to park, so he left all aggravated. I had his lunch in my car that he forgot this morning and after the appointment I reluctantly brought it to him at work. He actually stood outside of the FBI building and complained of the heat and that I was taking too long to get there! How dare him after I made such an effort! Well needless to say, I practically threw his lunch at him and peeled out in the parking lot in tears. My phone when flying across the new mini van and I couldn't even find it for several hours. I decided to give him the cold shoulder for the rest of the day! I showed him! Pregnancy harmones...you gotta lov'um!

She's a dancing Queen!

Today was Brooke's first day of dancing school! She is taking Level 1 tap and ballet at Corky Bell School of Dance in Alabaster.

She was very excited to put on her new black leotard (not real fond of the tights, though) and seemed to have a great time doing her thing. She was especially pumped that Serbanna (Savanna R.) is in her class and that Mrs. Robin gave out suckers at the end! I hope her enthusiasm continues considering that Mimi and I have bought SEVERAL new leotards and tights. And the darn tap and ballet shoes cost more than 60 bucks combined. I hope she doesn't hit a growing spurt before the end of the year! ;-) I'll be in big trouble with the hubs!

I tried to watch Brooke on the closed circuit television provided for the mommies in the waiting area, but I was distracted by the other mommies and by the fact that everybody decided to wear pink and black and it was hard for me to recognize my Brooke. I think I saw her lay on the floor a few times while everybody else was NOT, so I don't know what that was all about! She seems like she will have to work really hard on her coordination skills this year. I just hope that this dancing adventure will be a fond part of her growing up and making special memories as it was for me...oh how I miss my dancing days!

First Day of School

Today was Brooke's first day of school. She woke up in quite an ill mood and acted like she didn't want to go. I knew it was just early and once she woke up she would be ready to hit the road.
After finally getting her dressed and feeding her breakfast, we headed out. On the way we called Daddy, so that he would feel like a part of the day. Boy does Brooke love to talk to her Daddy on the phone and trust me the feeling is mutual...those two would talk all day if I let them!
Besides, we had to tell him about the train we we saw! We made it there at about 8:15ish which is better than last year. (We usually got there about 8:45.)
Anyway, I dropped her at the door to her room she was off to see her friends: Willi (Lilli), Beth Ann, Ella, and Woss (Ross.)
She didn't even look back! I had to ask really sweetly just to get her to come and give me a kiss.
I took off without much direction and ran a few errands. I went back home, picked up a couple of messes, and ate some lunch.
I headed back to pick her up at 1:00. She said she had a good day, but when I asked her what she did she just said, "I dunno!" I asked her if they went outside and she said, "NO, it was tooo hot!" (It is like day 10 of the temps reaching over 100 here in Birmingham.)
She said they didn't have a snack which I know is not true. SO...I guess I'll just have to not worry about what she did all day and trust that she had a good time!
I really do hope that all of these early Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the Bullock house will pay off in the long run!(Of course when the baby arrives we will no doubtfully be getting up even earlier!)

Fat and I can't eat cake! -29 weeks

I went to an appt with the CDE(Certified Diabetes Educator) and a check up with the OB-GYN! I dropped off Brooke to play with Jackson because the CDE was showing me how to give myself insulin injections. I knew if I brought her it would be hard to concentrate. The insulin injection instruction went well, but the doctors office was quite busy! I waited about two hours to see the doctor and then when she (Dr. Snowden) came in to check me she asked if I had my sugar test yet!!!!!!!! What? Are you kidding me? Evidently they don't bother reading the chart before they come in because if she would have she might have gotten a clue that I had my sugar test, failed it, failed at the strict diet plan, and was now on insulin! Uhhh yea, I think I have already taken my sugar test~thanks for asking!!!!!!!!!!
She said everything else looked great...are you sure? She probably just tells her patients that since she doesn't bother reading their chart! Anyway, I will get down off my soap box and give it over to God. I trust that He does have a plan for this baby and I will just have to learn it one day at a time.
Please pray for sweet Bailey~who seems to be getting bigger by the size of my stomach and the feel of her kicks. Oh and BTW, I did gain 3 pounds, but I am not worried. My last visit was in the morning and this one was late in the afternoon, so the extra pounds may have just been breakfast and lunch. ;-)
And also pray that the nightly injections of insulin will be enough because I certainly don't want to have to carry around insulin in the blazing hot summer heat and have to shoot up all day. That would be a total pain!
Only 11 or less weeks until I can have my cake and eat it too...

PEACE OUT!
