Child of the Covenant

Today my sweet angel Bailey had her baptism. She slept really late and woke up cheerful and ready for her big day. Mimi and Aunt Heidi spent the night for the big occasion. We all got ready for church on TIME. Yay! Bailey "sang" praise music all the way to church. It was too sweet! We arrived with no hitches and even met our neighbors in the parking lot, so that we could all sit together. Bailey was a little bit hyper, but she did fine waiting in big church for her name to be called. When we walked up, we decided to leave in her paci to keep her from making too many GOO AND COO noises. She was a little wiggly, but she did great! She didn't even cry when Jeff poured the water on her head.
My sweet child of the covenant, your baptism is a reminder and a promise that, if you believe Jesus came here to earth, lived a perfect life, and died on the cross for your sins, you will be given the gift of eternal life. As your mommy I will be sure to take my oath seriously. I have sworn to bring you up in the training and instruction of the Lord. I promise to catechize you at home in God's Word and in the Westminster confession. I love you so much and I pray that as you grow up there will never be a day in your life that you didn't know your heavenly Father. I pray that you rejoice in His grace and are faithful to His Word. That you live gratefully by serving and loving Jesus with all you heart, mind, and soul!
After church, Bailey took a little nap while we celebrated with lunch and a cake at the Red Geranium. It was a time of sweet fellowship and the food was yummy too. Bailey woke up after a while and continued to be an absolute angel baby. She even sat up in a big girl restaurant highchair for the first time and had a bottle.
It was a beautiful day. And I am so thankful for our relatives, friends, and church family that were a part of such a significant day in Bailey's little life.
I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. Genesis 17:7
